Here are some popular ways that we can support you.
Whilst organisational membership offers a comprehensive package of resources and professional development, including an allocation of tailored support days, many organisations decide they want additional tailored support. Tailored support can also be purchased by organisations who are not RiP Partners.
There is a wide range of programmes and resources that can be developed to meet a particular challenge or need within your organisation or region. Here are some popular ways that we can support you.
- In-house menu and bespoke workshops
- Strategy development
- Evidence scopes
- Evaluation services: measuring impact and demonstrating value
- Contribution to conferences and larger events
- Commissioning Tailored Support
In-house menu and bespoke workshops
Our high quality workshops are very popular; bringing research on key topics to your agency in a way that is engaging and practice-focussed. These can be selected from our menu of workshops, or can be designed specifically around your particular local needs.
This is a cost-effective way of providing training to your staff without the added expense of travel. Rated consistently highly, our workshops offer knowledge and insight on current topics and provide practical tools and techniques that can be used back in the workplace.
If there’s a topic you’re interested in that’s not on our menu of workshops, get in touch. We have a vast range of evidence-informed resources to draw on, and we work with an array of Associates with varied skills and experience, so there’s a good chance we’ll be able to support you.
Recent examples of bespoke workshops and training programmes include:
- One day workshop – Parental substance misuse: its impact on child development, and assessing parental capacity to change
- Half day workshop – Developing an evaluation strategy
- One day workshop – Group supervision in multi-agency settings
We have worked with several organisations to help them develop and implement an evidence-informed practice strategy that acts as a framework for practice, supervision, and commissioning. We have also provided support to organisations wishing to evaluate the impact of their evidence-informed practice strategy.
An evidence scope is a broad overview of research and evidence on a specific topic or area of practice. We can provide a comprehensive report that summarises existing research and key texts on a chosen area of interest. The summary report will:
- explore what the policy context is and what’s important about it for the topic being researched
- provide an overview of current research findings and key texts
- draw out practice learning and best practice
- highlight practice implications.
This can then be used to develop further research-based projects within the organisation or as a basis for improving practice. More info.
Evaluation services: measuring impact and demonstrating value
We can provide tailored evaluation support to help your organisation measure the impact of programmes, initiatives and services. This can be provided in a number of ways, for instance:
- workshops to build capacity in identifying measurable outcomes and evaluation planning
- expert advice in developing strategies and frameworks
- development of tools to support data collection activities.
We have a back catalogue of evaluation guides and tools co-developed as part of reason (the research, evaluation and analysis support network). The resources support the whole evaluation process from planning an evaluation through to collecting data and using the findings, including guidance on how to navigate important processes such as research governance and ethics. You can view and purchase RiP and reason resources online.
Contribution to conferences and larger events
We can develop and deliver short breakout workshops or presentations on various topics to support your conferences and events. We have recently delivered breakout sessions (1hr 20mins) on Working with Adolescents, The role of IROs, Building emotional resilience, amongst many other topics.
For Partners, we could also support your event with a marketing stand to help promote the Research in Practice partnership and encourage engagement with the resources available.
