Adolescent mental health: Frontline Briefing (2015)
This briefing offers an overview of the field of adolescent mental health for frontline practitioners in teams offering family support, social work and youth work. It aims to provide a broad ‘map of the territory’ and to offer some practical guidelines and tools for frontline workers who may feel they carry much of the burden of these complex and worrying problems. The briefing focuses in particular on the concept of ‘mentalisation’, an area of specialist expertise for the author and one which offers practically applicable theory to inform direct practice.
Aimed at: Frontline practitioners and first-line team managers in children’s social care, family support and wider Children’s Services (including early help, education, health and public health).
