Participate in research exploring effective practice in cross-border children and families cases

15 January 2018

Children and Families Across Borders Research in Practice is seeking children’s social workers, local authority solicitors and children’s guardians with experience of cross-border casework (including care proceedings where an international family placement is explored or instances where a family with a child at risk has fled abroad) to participate in a telephone focus group on behalf of Children and Families Across Borders (CFAB).

CFAB have undertaken an important research project exploring the challenges and effective practice in cross-border children and families cases and are keen to explore the emerging findings with practitioners.

The teleconference focus groups are being conducted by Research in Practice on behalf of CFAB, which is the UK branch of the International Social Service network.

During the 1 hour 15 minute teleconference focus group, participants will be asked to:

  • Reflect on the research findings and how they resonate or contrast with practice experience.
  • Share their perspective of the challenges and enablers to effective cross-border working.

Two focus groups are available for participants to choose from:

  • Focus Group 1: Thursday 1 March, 14.00 – 15.15
  • Focus Group 2: Friday 2 March, 9.30 – 10.45
