Building learning and development pathways in relation to child neglect: Mapping Resource
Ofsted has announced a series of 2017 joint targeted inspections, with a focus on the effectiveness of local area, multi-agency interventions for children who have experienced, or are at risk of, neglect. Neglect is the most common reason for children to become subject to a child protection plan and has long-term consequences for children’s outcomes.
The inspections will focus on the experiences of children aged between 7 and 15 years old, who may be at higher risk of going missing or being exploited, or who exhibit challenging behaviours in adolescence.
To support work in this area, we have produced a new Mapping Resource bringing together a selection of Research in Practice resources to help the sector build evidence-informed learning and development pathways in relation to child neglect.
