Call for CPD practice examples

11 June 2018

Call for CPD practice examplesResearch in Practice is inviting individuals and organisations across the sector to share existing continuing professional development (CPD) materials for Practice Supervisors. These will be used to inform the Practice Supervisor Development Programme, and where possible will be shared with the wider sector.

The Practice Supervisor Development Programme (PSDP) is a significant investment by the Department for Education (DfE) and aims to provide high-quality continuous professional development (CPD) to up to 700 social workers taking up their first role in which they are responsible for supporting and developing the practice of others.

We are committed to complementing the wealth of existing CPD activity in this field. As such, we are inviting colleagues across the sector to share existing CPD materials that are useful to Practice Supervisors. Materials will be considered against a set of criteria developed specifically for the PSDP. A selection of these materials will then be shared via an open-access online repository, so the wider sector can benefit. Original sources will be fully cited and credited.

We recognise that some materials will not be appropriate to share, but hope that colleagues will contribute what they can in order to share learning across the sector.

Share existing CPD materials. Please return the form to with the subject heading ‘CPD materials’.

Please note: organisations/individuals submitting CPD materials must ensure that they have the rights to share.

The PSDP is led by RiP, together with a consortium of partners including: The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, University of Sussex and Goldsmiths, University of London.

To stay informed as the PSDP develops, please email with the subject header ‘keep in touch’.
