Evaluation Associate recruitment

About us

Research in Practice (RiP) and Research in Practice for Adults (RiPfA) work nationwide to support evidence-informed practice across children's and adult's social care. We have a membership network of over 90 local authorities and other organisations that provide social services.

RiP and RiPfA take research evidence from academia, practitioners, and service users and turn it into resources that help social care providers to improve outcomes for children, adults and their families.

The evaluation arm of RiP and RiPfA’s work involves helping partner and non-partner organisations improve their processes and demonstrate the impact of the work they do. We do this by developing methodologically robust evaluations – planning, gathering evidence, analysing, reporting and disseminating findings.

Who we’re looking for

We rely on a network of expert Associates to help deliver our evaluation projects.

We are looking for people with research experience, and are particularly interested in hearing from prospective Associates who have a strong understanding of working with quantitative data, quasi-experimental methodologies, and statistical analyses.

You should have the capacity to take on freelance evaluation and research work, which could run over long periods of time.

Your experience may be in academia, local authority, social care, or private sector. Whatever your professional background, you will be comfortable handling data and making sense of complex research evidence.

What it means to be an Associate

If you are accepted into the Associate pool, we will contact you with research and evaluation opportunities. Being in the pool does not guarantee work, however you must be in the pool if you wish to work with RiP and RiPfA on evaluation projects.

We will ask you to complete a skills survey to help us match projects in line with your experience and abilities.

For those interested in a career in social care research, RiP and RiPfA are sector-recognised names with a high profile and access to a large network of practitioners and strategic leaders.

After taking on work with us, RiP and RiPfA Associates also gain access to our highly-respected resources and publications through our websites:
