The review explores children's 'strong and deep-rooted sensitivity to the natural world' and the possibilities it offers for creative, self-directed play. The authors argue that play in natural settings has a wide range of benefits for children which support the Every Child Matters outcomes and influence children's future relationship with the natural world.
