Support services for vulnerable families with young children

This short article provides an overview of evaluative research that focuses on ‘early intervention’ support services. The main types of support service covered by this review are: nurseries and family centres, parenting education classes, intensive health visiting, community networking models and volunteer befriending schemes. The paper also briefly reviews strategies that combine several services, i.e. multiple interventions.
