Putting fathers on the child welfare agenda

The aim of this short paper is to put fathers on the child welfare agenda by exploring a number of key issues. It begins with a broad overview of the demographic picture of fathers in the UK today. This is followed by three main sub-sections: the first discusses the role of fathers in children’s development; the second, the impact of domestic violence on this development and the third, ‘engaging fathers’ with their child’s welfare.
