Development Groups - 2009

E-mail Print PDF

The programme of Development Groups for 2009 concluded in November. Three dates were nominated for each region to which two participants were nominated to all three dates.

Each pair of participants came to the meetings with an evidence-based project which should have been clearly agreed in consultation with their Head of Service prior to coming to the first meeting of the group. The projects were designed to be clearly linked to the service improvement agenda in the authority and involved using research to improve an existing service or new service initiative. Project work either supported an existing initiative or initiated a new piece of work. It was supported by resources from the Wales College facilitators to include research advice/resources/'between session' contact and access to a broader range of research in practice resources.

An evaluation of the Development Groups (2008/2009) is included in a review of the entire programme for 2007/2010 made available for Heads of Children’s Services and the SSIA.
