research in practice aim to promote positive outcomes for children and families through the use of research evidence. One of the ways we disseminate and help implement up-to-date, quality research evidence within our Partner Agencies is through our Learning Programme. For the programme September 2011 to May 2012 we are running the following types of event:
Partnership Conference
This large event is designed to exchange information about national research messages and evaluated, innovative practice around a key topic. Multi-professional participation is particularly encouraged at these events.
Research Messages Workshops
Research messages workshops address current research and discuss how to apply messages to practice. These workshops allow time for reflection, discussion and idea sharing; enabling you to identify how these research messages can be embedded into your practice.
Team Managers’ Workshops
These workshops focus on issues relevant to team managers’ in to both adult and children’s services. They are jointly delivered with research in practice for adults, with opportunity for facilitated multi-agency discussion and idea sharing between delegates.
Knowledge Exchange Workshops
These workshops provide a forum for reflection and discussion and a structured approach to sharing knowledge. They provide an opportunity for participants to meet together and discuss the evidence that is available to them and how they can apply it. To ensure maximum impact rip will support participants to do preparatory work in advance of the exchange and will document and share learning across the network following it.
Learning Modules
This year’s learning modules will draw upon the final resources from the Analysis and Critical Thinking in Assessment Change Project, these two-part learning modules are designed to support practitioners to develop their critical thinking skills in the context of assessments. Part 1 will introduce some of the key issues around using analysis in assessment, and invite participants to identify how they can take these messages back to their own agency to improve their assessments. Part 2 will bring them back together to explore their findings and examine how they might continue to develop these skills.
