where: Thistle Marble Arch, London
details: In December 2009 'Chapter 8' of Working Together to Safeguard Children was updated to reflect Lord Laming's recommendations on Serious Case Reviews (SCRs) and the outcomes of a public consultation. At least every two years, the DCSF commissions an overview analysis of Serious Case Reviews in England to draw out themes and trends, so that lessons learnt from cases as a whole can inform both policy and practice.
more info: This event is for: Members of LSCBs, planners, policy-makers and practitioners across children's services, including health professionals, particularly those working at the front end and those in child protection services. This Conference sets out to: (1) re-examine the key themes emerging from the overview reports (2) consider whether we are missing key information at the 'front door' when we first have contact with clients who subsequently become the subject of a SCR (3) consider the contribution a systems approach can make in the field of SCRs
