Doncaster: Engagement Success

A significant portion of our offering can be found online, and so encouraging people to sign up for web accounts is a key step towards getting the most from our service. Doncaster colleagues now hold 314 web accounts which is a fantastic achievement.

Sharon White, Link Officer, talks about how they achieved such a high take-up.

Sharon suggests the success stems from the considerable support from senior management enabling access to manager meetings and training opportunities to spread the word about research in practice. Also Sharon’s regular attendance at the children’s services Learning and Development group, where research in practice is a continuous agenda discussion item is invaluable.

As with many of our Partners, Sharon also worked individually with staff to support them to log on and register, highlighting areas that may be of particular interest which encourages them to return back to the website after her visits.

Sharon said, ‘It has involved a significant investment of time, but it ensures we gain the maximum from our membership.’ She finished, ‘I would also add a huge thank you to all of the staff in Doncaster who have shown enthusiasm for registering and utilising the research in practice website.’
