Our new in-house workshop on impacts of domestic violence draws on the content of the research review we published in March this year. The workshop includes exercises, facilitated discussion and short films in which researchers discuss their findings on topics such as social work with violent men and violence in young people’s relationships. Susannah Bowyer, Research and Development Manager, delivered the workshop at a regional event hosted by Bristol in September, as part of a series of evidence-informed practice seminars organised by the Bristol Link Officer, Bonnie Curran.
The workshop was introduced by Annie Hudson, Bristol’s Strategic Director of Children, Young People and Skills, enacting the senior leadership endorsement of evidence informed practice that is so vital in raising professional expertise in the workforce. The 60 participants included health visitors, schools staff, social workers and MARAC and refuge workers. The workshop was very well received indeed, and participants recorded very significant shifts in their self assessment of skills and knowledge on the issue at the start and end of the workshop.
We are seeking to recruit skilled associates to support delivery of this increasingly popular in house workshop across our partnership network. If you or a colleague has the skills and experience to work with us as an associate in this capacity, please contact
