Congratulations Cornwall

We would like to congratulate Cornwall. In just four months they have trebled the number of web accounts. This is a remarkable advance in the number of people linking into the research in practice network.

This growth followed the hard work of the Link Officer Vikki Forrest. She took the ‘lunch and learn sessions’ that we delivered on Using Evidence to Champion Excellence, and delivered the event across other localities to increase engagement.

The same period also saw Cornwall complete 40 e-learning units. This progression is owed to the strong strategic commitment to improve services at Cornwall. They have given staff the clear message that taking time to engage with research is an expectation. We are delighted that employees within Cornwall are embracing the opportunity to build their own professional capacity.

Vikki Forrest said, “The Learning & Development team have been showing staff how research in Practice can help them to work smarter, accessing relevant information and learning without having to travel the length of the county.” She added, “While students and trainees have understandably been quick to see the benefit they can gain from research in practice, shift workers and crisis support workers have also found it invaluable, as they often find it hard to engage with more traditional learning experiences.”

This variety of learning, helping a variety of practitioners, is one of the fundamental reasons we exist as an organisation.

We strongly commend the work undertaken in Cornwall.
