Action for Children, who are members of research in practice, have launched the findings of their new research, which celebrates the effectiveness of developing professional relationships in making a difference in children's lives.
The research was undertaken by York Consulting and shows how professional relationships are core to the delivery of effective services.
By developing effective relationships with parents, the outcomes for children are improved. Yet too often the value of these relationships is overlooked, especially at a time when staff fear that reduction to services will mean less time to work directly with children, young people and families.
As well as a final study report, they have produced skills and organisational frameworks, which identify the qualities, experience, skills and knowledge that are essential to developing effective professional relationships with vulnerable parents.
You can access the report findings on the Action for Children website.
