19 of the 22 local authorities in Wales were represented at the Welsh Link Officers' meeting in Llandrindod Wells in January. It included a research presentation from Professor Jane Barlow, University of Warwick, on safeguarding, a presentation from Donna Davis, the Welsh Assembly, on forthcoming policy initiatives in Wales and the report of the evaluation from Flying Start. Other contributors included the SSIA (Social Service Improvement Agency,) the Director of research in practice, Jane Lewis, and an interesting presentation on trafficking from Detective Inspector Watkins from the Gwynedd police force.
