The first report from Eileen Munro’s national review of social work was published this month and is available here

Eileen Munro will speak at our Partnership Conference – Learning from Serious Case Reviews: Messages for practice in London on 30th November. Places are still available at this conference. For more information or to book a place please go to the Learning Programme

Programme

The conference will look at the overview analysis of serious case reviews in England, commissioned by government, which draws out key themes and trends. Marian Brandon, who leads on this analysis, will begin the day.

Eileen Munro will talk about new approaches to Serious Case Reviews, in light of the Munro Review.

Sheila Fish from SCIE will discuss the SCIE model for a multi-agency systems approach for case reviews and the outcomes from piloting this model.

Christopher Hall will present research around identifying critical early signs and risk and whether we are missing key information at the ‘front door’ at first point of contact with clients who subsequently become the subject of a SCR.

The conference is open to 150 people and is for members of LSCBs, planners, policy-makers and practitioners across children’s services, including health professionals, particularly those working at the front end and those in child protection services. Our conferences are held in high regard by our network of subscribing organisations, giving time for thought and reflection, recent comments from delegates include:

“Probably the best conference I have been to in terms of content and venue”

“An informative day to inspire me to remain on frontline CP work for a little longer!”
