Wales College Programme has been agreed!

The Wales College programme for 2010 / 2011 has been agreed!

Briefly the programme will continue to provide:

Seminars with frontline practitioners

  • Access to robust research
  • Link Officer support
  • Access to the website and Link Officer’s Exchange
  • Promoting good practice
  • Work with evidence – informed leaders

The 2010/11 Wales College seminars will aim to support and promote the use of research evidence for social workers in their first year of practice - post qualification. The programme is designed to be an integral part of the authority’s plan to assist such workers in consolidating and developing their practice. As such, we would hope that the workshops should be seen as a formal part of the Mentoring and Development Plan for the individual concerned. A similar focus on evidence-informed practice is contained within the current Team Manager Development Programme being offered to team managers across Wales by Oxford Brookes University and research in practice.

The programme has been designed so that each authority nominates three individuals to attend all 3 one-day seminars, offered on a regional basis. The three seminars are sequential, build on the learning from the previous session and the expectation is that each individual attends all three seminars.
