One in Ten: Key messages from policy, research and practice about young people who are NEET

9.4 per cent of 16- to 18-year-olds – almost one in ten, are not in education, employment or training at any one time, or ‘NEET’. The transition from compulsory education to young adulthood is a testing time for young people - and their families. This research review brings together available research and promising practice to form a comprehensive overview of this subject with the aim of improving the life chance of these vulnerable young people.
