On the Path to Success: Promoting engagement with learning at Key Stage 3 is our new Handbook. It brings together collaborative learning from the work of 18 agencies in our network on how to promote engagement with learning at Key Stage 3 (ages 11 to 14) and tackle disengagement. This is a critical period in a young person’s educational journey and success at this stage can have major consequences for future opportunities in adult life. The Handbook draws on research, identifies key policy initiatives and explores practice guidance and case studies to set out a range of responses that can be drawn upon to support young people. It includes research and theory, project case-studies, short films and useful tools.
Distribution Suggestions:
This Handbook is specifically targeted at a multi-disciplinary audience and we are keen to get it disseminated across your agency to key individuals in a range of settings - for example, strategic managers with responsibility for school improvement, Virtual School Heads, Managers of Extended Services, the Education Psychology and Educational Welfare services, Behaviour Improvement Teams, and staff involved in alternative educational provision.
