our partnerships

research in practice is a department of the Dartington Hall Trust run in collaboration with the Association of Directors of Children’s Services and the University of Sheffield.

The research in practice network is made up of 86 agencies consisting of local authorities, statutory and childcare organisations and national agencies.

Our sister organisation, research in practice for adults has developed out of the research in practice model to promote the use of evidence-informed practice in the planning and delivery of adult social care services.

Building and facilitating networks and partnerships is at the heart of what we do. We have developed innovative collaborations with a number of organisations to pursue the development of research-informed practice in the UK and internationally.
